Wins in the Tony Allcock Trophy
Chesham had two teams in the National Over 60 Double Rink competition, the Tony Allcock Trophy, on Sunday. Chesham A had a comfortable win against Princes Risborough, Fay Green, Sue Faulks, Brian Wright and Keith Patrick winning 27 - 18, and Howard Cave, Avril Harland, Pat Rodgers and Mick Skerry winning 25 - 16.
However, Chesham B's win against Iver Heath was much closer, being decided by a tight measure after the last wood had been played. Scores were Alan Cohn, Colin Parsons, Terri Keen and Lin Wright 16 - 18, Shirley Gardiner, Roy Rodgers and Geoff Denham and Sue Springall 25 - 22.
On Thursday was the first round of the Top Club, and Chesham won against Amersham in four out of the five matches. Fours Dave Sills, Brian Wright, Geoff Denham and Mick Skerry won 37 -5, Triples Alan Cohn, Chris Harvey and Roger Elliston won 34 - 6, Pairs Howard Cave and Keith Patrick won 29 - 14, 2 Wood, Roy Rodgers lost 14 - 15, and in the Singles Dave Coles won 21 - 19.
In Sunday's friendly against Desborough, Chesham won 120-92, top rink was Tricia Parsons, Alan Turner, Jim Shepherd and Tony Holt 23-8.
