Teams for the Ladmen TrophyOn  Bank Holiday Monday the annual Ladies v Gentlemen was played for the Ladmen Trophy. The President, Lawrie Smethurst, and club Captains Geoff Denham and Mo Bailey (centre in photo) led the game which the men won convincingly 141-72, Top mens rink John Hooper, John Henderson, Colin Ware and John Holland. Top ladies rink Barbara Strudwick, Toni Nightingale, Dot Burgin and June Holland. 

Chesham ladies made good progress in the County fours and triples with the rink of Terri Keen, Faye Holmes, Daphne Halsey and Pat Rodgers losing to Olney in the 1/4 finals 19 shots to 16, and the triple of Sue Faulks, Avril Harland and Pat Rodgers losing to Stony Stratford 20-15 also in the 1/4 finals.  

Six Chesham ladies were selected for the Johns Trophy (inter-county six rinks). Bucks beat Kent by 23 shots and play Oxfordshire next. Sue Faulks, Pat Rodgers and Sue Springell played, with Lin Wright, Terri Keen and Avril Harland reserves. 

In the National Mixed Pairs June and John Holland beat Avril Harland and Keith Patrick 25-17. 

Chris Bunce beat fellow club member Alan Cohn 21-18 in the Zone final of Unbadged Singles. 

The club had a clean sweep in the Chiltern and Thames League against Chalfont St Giles, Marlene  Neems, Sue Faulks and Mick Skerry won 20-12, Fay Green, Sylvia Warrington and Harley Neems won 20-17, and Howard Cave, Avril Harland and Keith Patrick won 18-16. 

The A team in the National Double Fours Comp. defeated Cheddington with Peter Horton, Ray Keen, Diet Townend and Mick Skerry scoring 17-15 and David Coles, Ashley Ware, Harley Neems and Jack Elliott 22-12. 

The London & Southern Counties Shield was contested with 2 rinks at home and 2 away at Iver Heath, one of the strongest clubs in the area. The home rinks won 27-15 and 27-18, one away rink won 24-22 but the other lost 12-24, overall we won 90 shots to 79. 

The ladies played triples away to Rickmansworth and won 67-40. Top triple Jean McNab, Mo Bailey and Dot Burgin. 

6 Mixed rinks had a good win against Thame 134-100. Top rink Jean McNab, Trevor Bateman, Eileen Perry and Chris Fillery.
