Chesham Bowling
Club have played two cup games this week, winning one and losing one.
The second leg against Marlow for the Challenge Cup was played away
with a 10 shot win to add to our 38 shot win at home, the score at
Marlow being 102 shots to 92. Highest winning rink was Jayne Denham, Mo
Bailey, Colin Ware and Geoff Denham.
In the Jubilee Cup we
travelled to Princes Risborough with a deficit of 6 shots, but lost by
25 making an overall loss of 31 shots. Chesham's highest winning rink
was Trevor Bateman, Brian Skuse, Geoff Denham and Lawrie
Smethurst.
We hosted a team brought by the Bucks
Bowls President, Alan Alderman, and a close game resulted in a loss to
Chesham by just three shots, 134-137. Highest winning rink David Hobbs,
Dennis Wise, Colin Ware and John Holland.
A team from
Harrow and District Bowls Association visited Chesham on Monday (4
July) when we were playing with 3 new bowlers. The home team won 126
shots to 108, highest winning rink Geoff Parr, Mike Bailey and Bill
Faulkner. Club badges were presented to Mary Ward, Mike Abbot and
Richard Atkins. During the game against Harrow and District one
Chesham rink achieved a Hotshot i.e. all eight bowls scored on one end.
the rink was Keith Ratford, Lyn Birch, Jenny Ware and Alan Cohn.
