
Chesham Bowling Club are mourning the sudden death David FLewis who had been involved with the sport since the 1980s.
During this time he was President of Bucks County Bowling Association in 2008; he was Chairman of the Chiltern and Thames Mixed Bowling Association on three separate occasions, 1989, 1993 and 2011.
In his year as County President he raised a great deal of money for his chosen charity; High Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Scannappeal.
He first played at Broadway Bowls Club for several years, where he had his first experience of leadership being Captain for three years, ’85 ’86 and ‘89 before moving to Chesham Bowling Club.
He served this Club by being Captain for two years and President for three. He also gave his support by helping with the refurbishment projects at the Clubhouse and was a loyal supporter of the many social events.
His funeral is being held at the Milton Chapel at the Chilterns Crematorium on May 19th. at 4.00.p.m.
