This week saw the start of the Bucks Cup campaign, and Chesham started with a good win against Amersham. At Amersham Alan Cohn, Roger Elliston, Chris Harvey won 22 - 11, and Nathan Harvey, David Coles, Mick Skerry won 17 - 12, whilst at home Chris Fillery, Frank McCartney, Ray Keen won 29 - 19, Michael Nash, Howard Cave, Keith Patrick lost 14 - 24, giving Chesham a 12 - 2 points win in the game.
In the first leg of the Chesham Cup played against Marlow, Chesham gained a healthy lead 126 - 107, helped by a top rink of Margaret Shepherd, Andy Roker, Colin Ware, Peter Horton 26 - 11. In other friendly matches Chesham men won at Iver Heath 106---92, top rink here was Gavin Holmes, Dave Hobbs, Malcolm Warwick 24 - 17. Whilst at Aston Clinton, Chesham lost 89 - 98, but did have a top rink of Margaret Shepherd, Jeff Trickett, Geoff Denham 24---8 In the London and Southern Counties Double Fours, Chesham won 42 - 32 against Aylesbury Town. At home Chris Fillery, David Coles, Chris Harvey and Keith Patrick won 22 - 12, whilst the away team of Nathan Harvey, Alan Cohn, Ray Keen and Mick Skerry drew 20 - 20. Finally the annual Ladies v Gentlemen match on Bank Holiday Monday saw a win for Chesham men. Captain Trevor Bateman's victory over his wife, Ladies captain Jackie was by 124 - 110. Best rink for the men was Dave Sills, Jim Shepherd, Ashley Ware, Norman Green, whilst the Ladies best rink was Pam Hooper, Jayne Denham, Jackie Bateman, Jean Mc Nab 27---9 Comments are closed.
