Chesham Ladies continued their 50th anniversary celebrations with a visit from Bowls England. President Marcia Dunstone brought a team from as far afield as Cornwall and Derbyshire to Chesham to play a match against Chesham Ladies. Chesham were ahead until the Bowls England team put in a strong finish over the latter stages of the game to win 131 - 104. Chesham's top rink was Mo Bailey, Kitty Lofty, Pat Rodgers and Sue Springell 26---22.
In the quarter finals of the Trundell Trophy, Chesham Ladies defeated Waddesdon. by 7 shots. Both rinks won - June Holland, Shirley Gardiner, Avril Harland and Lin Wright won 21-15, and Courtney Harvey, Fay Green, Charlene Turpie, and Sue Springell won 21-19. However, the Burnham Plate team of Pam Hooper, Jean McNab, Jackie Bateman, and Fay Holmes lost by 5 shots to a strong team from Burnham . On Saturday Chesham played at Marlow in the second leg of the Chesham Challenge Cup which the two clubs have competed for since 1958. Chesham won the first leg and completed a double win in the second leg by 105 - 94. Top rink for Chesham was Jackie Bateman, Colin Ware, Fay Green and Richard Free 28----16. A win also for Chesham ladies in their match with Potten End 58 - 44 with top rink Sylvia Warrington, Mo Bailey and Pat Rodgers 23----12. Comments are closed.
