Good win in Over 60s Double Rink Competition
Chesham's good progress in the National Over 60s Double Rink competition continued with a resounding win over Wexham BC. Shirley Gardiner, Mike Bailey, David Staples and June Holland won 19 – 16, and Helen Fillery, Sylvia Warrington, Ray Keen and John Holland won 32 – 10. Chesham go on to play either Olney or Princes Risborough in the next round.
In the Bucks League this week the top two teams played each other in the last of the regional rounds, with Princess Risborough coming out on top, winning three of the triples to Chesham's one. This means that Chesham now play Aylesbury Town in the quarter finals.
The county Burnham Plate competition for Ladies start this week and it was a win for Chesham against Princes Risborough. Pam Hooper, Gillian Henderson, Sylvia Warrington and Shirley Gardiner won 17 – 15.
The second leg of the Challenge Cup with Marlow took place on Sunday. Chesham took a nine shot lead into the match, but Marlow won 119 – 104, leaving Chesham to loose overall by just 6 shots. Highest rink for Chesham was Harry Denham, Richard Atkins, Jenny Ware and Norman Green 22 – 10.
In a ladies triples match against Gerrards Cross, Chesham won 51 – 45, with a top triple of Babs Williams, Helen Fillery and Chris Smethurst.
