Green Opening Times
The playing day is divided into 3 sessions
Mornings
The Green is normally ready for play from 10.30 am apart from Monday mornings when it is closed for maintenance. Matches should finish by 1.45 pm.
Some Club Matches or special events (e.g.Gala) start earlier. If an earlier start is required please contact the Green Ranger to see if the Green can be made available before 10.30 am - this will probably depend on whether arrangements can be made to cut earlier than normal.
Afternoons - Starts at 2 pm. Matches should finish by 5.45 pm.
Evenings - Starts at 6 pm.
Rink Allocations for a day will be shown on the Notice Board outside the Pavilion Door. Rink Booking Sheets are in a binder inside the Pavilion under the Team Sheets notice board.
Rinks cannot be booked for Roll Ups but a Roll Up Rink will be available most of the time (not normally available if a Club Match is being played using the majority of the Green or if all rinks are required for County Competitions.) Normal Dress for Roll Ups is "Greys" (i.e.White or Club Shirts above the waist and Grey Trousers or Skirts).

Inclement Weather & Green Fitness for Play
Members of the Green Committee are on a rota to make the decision if the green is playable. The Committee agreed that the green is to be bowled on and not overprotected. We cannot afford to have the green closed all day so the green inspection should take place before the morning session and again before the afternoon and evening sessions.
It was suggested that if the green becomes waterlogged, members should use their common sense and come off the green. Normally, If there are no water trails the game should continue.
The committee also agreed that a notice should be put up in the clubhouse to state:-
"When the green is closed the situation will be reviewed before the start of the morning, afternoon and evening session. This inspection will be carried out by a member of the green committee.

Maintenance of the Green
The Green is maintained by Club Members working with a Contractor, Chris Buswell who trades as BTC. Chris undertakes specialist work on the Green including aeration, scarification and application of all chemicals working to a basic schedule agreed with the Committee via the Green Ranger. He also undertakes end of season renovations.
Club Members undertake all mowing and additional duties such as maintenance of the green edges, ditches and surrounds.
Please contact the Green Ranger if you are willing to help maintain the green on a regular (not necessarily weekly!) or occasional basis.
