Short Mat Bowls

The extension of our pavilion in 2008 meant that we could play  short mat bowls in the clubhouse in the winter months.

I would like to confirm that we have two teams in the "Two Mat League" and one team entered into the "Single Mat League". As agreed at the pre-season short mat meeting, these teams will play their home games on Monday (both two mat teams) and Thursday (single mat team) afternoons. They will use one mat while roll-ups can continue on the other mat with Chris Gilliland looking after Monday (see below) and Rob Turmaine looking after Thursday. Nearer the time, they will let you know the date when roll-ups will start. The mats will only be shared when there are league home games and the dates for these are on the short mat notice board.
Wednesday afternoons from 2:30pm will be available for short mat roll-ups from the start of the season until further notice. It would be preferable to have a nominated club member taking responsibility for these sessions and a volunteer is sought.
Enquiries to establish the level of interest, organisational responsibility, and playing schedule for an internal league competition are ongoing.
The draft squad membership for the Single Mat and Two Mat League teams will be posted on the Notice Board at the club. If your name is not in one of the squads but you would like to play inter-club matches, please write your name in the space provided. Each match only requires 6 players from the squad so signing up does not commit you to games until you have been selected and agreed to play a particular fixture.

Mondays Roll Up Details
We're pleased to announce that Monday Short Mat sessions have resumed starting at 2:00pm. Please arrive by 1:45pm so that teams can be organized in time for a prompt start.

Please note that shortmant on Thursdays will not start until 17th October as the clubhouse is booked for the Masons.
