Final Weekend of Season

It was the last weekend of the outdoor season at Chesham.   In the final friendly on Saturday against Hemel Hempstead, Chesham won 130 – 104, with a top rink of Harry Denham, Margaret Shepherd, Pam Hooper and Mike Bailey, 27 – 17.

The last match of the season was the annual Captain v President, played over 8 rinks.  Captains Helen Fillery and Peter Horton won 152 – 147, completing a successful season.   The top rink was Alan Lamin, Babs Williams, Pam Hooper and Shirley Gardiner.  After the match Peter Horton awarded the Chesham Bowler of the year trophy to Derek Puddephatt for this work in support - getting all the equipment out before each game.   Helen's awards were to Jackie Bateman as the most improved bowler and Margaret Denham for her support during the year.
