Grant from the Bucks Playing Fields Association
Laurie Johnson from Bucks Playing Fields Association was pleased to hand over a cheque for £375 to Geoff Denham, chairman of Chesham Bowling Club. This grant was for improvements to the boundary fence and a new gate into Lowndes Park.
The grant was given as part of the scheme run by the Bucks Playing Fields Association to improve playing fields, sporting and recreational facilities in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. Mr Johnson said that the association welcomes applications from clubs to assist with small projects to maintain and improve facilities.
With the approval of the Town Council and Friends of the Park, the club has contributed to the project by planting about 70 bushes along the fence in the designated conservation area in that part of the park.
