Chesham Ladies continue their excellent season with a win in the semi-final of the Vi Trundell competition. Playing against Stony Stratford, both fours had comfortable wins. Fay Green, June Holland, Sue Faulks and Avril Harland won 31 - 14, and Courtney Harvey, Terri Keen, Charlene Turpie and Sue Springell won 25 - 14. Chesham now play Bletchley Town at Hazells BC in the final on Sunday 13th September.

However away at Desborough Chesham lost 58 - 106, but did have a top rink of Richard Atkins, Margaret Denham and Chris Fillery 14 -10 Chesham beat Eastbourne BC 3 - 1 to progress in the Ladies Top Club so are now one game away from playing at Leamington.
Chesham won the Tosh Clarke Cup played against Herts. With a 28 shot difference to make up from the first leg, Chesham won 128 shots to 88, giving them an overall lead of 12 shots. Chesham have won the cup for the fourth year running. Top rink was Dave Hobbs, Margaret Shepherd, Helen Fillery and Tony Holt 30 - 9.
In the National Championships at Leamington Spa, Charlene Turpie, Terri Keen and Lin Wright did well to reach the last 16. They won matches against Wiltshire, then a strong Lincolnshire side which included two England Internationals, before going out to Gloucestershire.
Senior Pairs Howard Cave and Keith Patrick also got as far as the last sixteen, beating Durham and then losing to Hampshire. In the singles Avril Harland was unlucky to be drawn against England International and eventual winner Sophie Tolchard. |
