Our Secretary, Vanessa, is doing a great job keeping Members and the Committee up to date with the latest developments.
It will obviously not be possible to open the Green for Roll Ups after Easter. However, we are able to maintain the Green, our Contractor is still able to work each week and regular cutting is being undertaken.
Please note that it may take a few days to get the Green ready for play when an Opening Date is fixed. In particular, the cutting height remains at winter levels to conserve moisture and reduce stress on the grass plants to reduce the need to apply fertiliser which increases growth and the frequency to cut. In addition rolling is not regarded as an "essential activity" and that will be required to firm the playing surface and settle any frost heave although hopefully the latter will be minimal after a relatively mild winter.
