Chesham's Short Mat Bowling Season reached its climax on Sunday with the Club Singles Finals.
In the semi-finals, David Hobbs won against Chris Fillery and Keith Patrick beat Coral Sills. Then in the final Keith Patrick won against David Hobbs. President Norman Green presented Keith with the Melcross Cup.
In the Club's short mat league played throughout the season, winners were David Hobbs, Jean McNab, Jackie Bateman, Malcolm Warwick and Trish and Colin Parsons receiving the Bill Faulkner Cup, donated by Bill on leaving the club last year. The short mat ladder was won by Jean McNab.
Thoughts now turn to the outdoor season with the green opening this week, and the club is having an Open Morning on Saturday 25th April from 10am to 1pm. All ages are welcome. We will have a session on the green and then join us for refreshments in the Clubhouse.
No previous experience is necessary as Coaches and Members will be on hand to introduce you to the game. Bowls will be provided so all you need is casual dress and a pair of soft soled shoes (e.g. trainers).
The club is situated at the top of Lowndes Park in Chesham. It is reached by going up Bury Lane, which is off Church Street in Chesham, past the Guide Hut to the club car park at the top of the hill (our postcode is HP5 1HX).
Please turn up even if it rains as we can use the Short Mat Bowling facilities in the Clubhouse where we play in the winter months.
