Ladies Triples through to Leamington

Chesham Ladies Triple of Charlene Turpie, Terri Keen and Lin Wright have won through to the Final of the County Ladies Triples Competition

They will be going to represent Buckinghamshire in the National Finals to be held at Leamington in August.   They won against Bradwell on an extra end in the Quarter Final, and then against Hazells by 2 shots in another tight match in the Semi-Final.   The County Finals are going to be played at Chesham BC on 18th/19th July.

Alan Cohn has made it to the County Unbadged Semi-Final, winning against M.  Sharpe of Marlow 18 -21.  Also through to the semi-final of the County 2 Wood is Keith Patrick, winning against fellow Chesham member Chris Harvey 14 - 7.

Chesham men won their opening match in the Top Club competition at home to Marlow.  Results - Two Wood Frank McCartney 7 - 18, Singles Nathan Harvey 21 - 11, Pairs - David Coles Keith Patrick 21 - 12, Triples - Alan Cohn, Roger Elliston, Chris Harvey 16 - 12, Fours - Howard Cave, Chris Fillery, Ray Keen, Mick Skerry 23 - 18, meant that Chesham won 4 - 1, and play Gerrards Cross in the next round.

Chesham men also kept up their winning run in the Bucks Cup, this time against High Wycombe.  Chesham won by 3 games to 1 and overall on shots by 81 - 56, helped by a top triple of Nathan Harvey, David Coles and Mick Skerry.

In friendly matches this week, another win over Marlow by the Ladies Triples 45 - 42, with top rink of Toni Nightingale, Margaret Shepherd, Jean Mc Nab 20 - 8

Finally, a real treat for Chesham Members.  On Sunday, the Ceredigion County Bowling Association from Wales, started their tour of Buckinghamshire with a match at Chesham.  Chesham won the match 115 - 96, with a top rink of Gill Henderson, Sylvia Warrington, Roger Lofty, Dave Sills 23---9.  However the evening will be best remembered for their fine rendition of "We'll keep a welcome in the Hillside" at the end of their visit.
